Farzana Tasnim Pinky
Assistant Professor

Farzana Tasnim Pinky is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Discipline in Khulna University, Bangladesh. Before joining here, she worked as an apprentice sub editor at the daily Prothom Alo newspaper. She is still writing columns in different national dailies.

Laws and Ethics in Media

In this course student will come away with understanding of journalism's purpose and its ethical choices in field work. They will analyze the actual issues in the news. The focus will be what journalists should do and what they should not do.

This course is designed to familiarize students with the theories of communication, models of communication, effect of communication theories, process of human communication in a behavioral and social context.

Conflict Resolution Journalism

This course is designed for understanding contemporary trends in media and communications, particularly as they relate to social processes of peace and conflict. Emphasis is placed on media analysis and media production and ethical principles in news reporting.

Media, Society and Culture

This course is focused on media and society, media effects, media control and analysis of the relationship between mass media and the government. It is critically examine the media shape contemporary ideology about politics and culture.

Film Studies

This course introduces to film both as an industry and an art form. The subject matter includes film techniques, traditions and genres, cinematography, editing, sound and script structure. The course will also focus on pioneer filmmakers of Bangladesh.
